Coming Soon to Cypress

Cypress is EXPLODING with progress; we have new food, retail, homes, even an NFL training center (definitely not on my 2026 Bingo card, but here we are). Now, before you get excited, this is not a Coming Soon but is indeed an ‘In The Works’, so these may take a while before a grand opening. But according to Texas State Filings, this is what has been submitted.

Another Nine is building a private indoor golf simulator location at Cypress Village Station, near U.S. 290 and Skinner Road. The pitch is 24/7 member access, which is either very appealing or slightly alarming depending on who you live with.

It’s the second swing-adjacent business to land in that stretch this year, and it fits the pattern we keep noticing out here: the entertainment that’s opening in Cypress is the kind you book rather than the kind you drive to.

The Wisconsin burger-and-frozen-custard chain has filed for what would be the first Culver’s in Cypress proper, on Fry Road near Bridgeland. The state filing lists a 4,393-square-foot ground-up build with a drive-thru, an estimated cost of $1.85 million, construction starting September 21, 2026, and completion June 25, 2027.

So realistically this is a summer 2027 opening at the earliest, and filing dates slide all the time. ButterBurgers, cheese curds, custard. The closest ones right now are in Katy and Fulshear.

Plans at 12638 Huffmeister Road call for more than 250,000 square feet of industrial and flex space across multiple phases, with a $12 million state filing on the first one and warehouse space coming online in 2027.

Nobody’s driving out on a Saturday for a flex building. But these filings are a decent early read on which corridors get built out next, and Huffmeister is clearly next.

An assisted-stretching studio is coming to Coles Crossing, confirmed September 10, with an October opening. Recovery and wellness keeps being the category that expands fastest out here, right behind pilates and frozen custard.

Flower Child is expanding its footprint in Harris County, preparing to open a new restaurant in Cypress. The fast-growing dining concept, known for its wellness-focused, made-from-scratch menu featuring customizable bowls, salads, and wraps, will be setting up shop at the Dunham Pointe development. Located at 14611 Mason Road, Suite 85A, this major project involves a $1,300,000 investment for the interior tenant build-out of a 4,575-square-foot space within an existing shell building. The new restaurant will feature a brand-new commercial kitchen, restrooms, lighting, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment.

Construction on the fresh dining destination is scheduled to kick off next spring on May 1, 2027, with a target completion date set for the fall on November 1, 2027.

If you remember, we wrote a special piece with the director of the Virtual Pathways Program. What I didn’t know is that they will have a separate campus for this program. According to the permit docs, this will be a renovation of an existing CFISD building to house the virtual pathways campus, which will be 16,212 sqft. Completion is set for late November 2026. So, likely looking at the beginning of the 2027 school year for use.

So this was a bit of a fun surprise, but it’s looking like a good-sized commercial build is coming into Cypress. My guess is a sports arena (Baseball, maybe? or a multi-use training facility?) It’s registered as a 25,038 ft² single-story building on 17502 South Drive, Cypress, TX 77433 (Right off of Barker and 290). More to come on this, with completion showing as May 2027.

This build just registered and is bringing (can you guess?) Garages presumably😅. Going in at 17214 Huffmeister Rd. Cypress, TX 77429. There are five single-story shell buildings. 36,167 sq.ft. total and estimated to be completed in December 2026.

CyLife Church has been here and established for a while, but expansion is on the horizon. The church has registered for major updates, including a new edition and remodeling of its current location. This construction is estimated to cost over $17M and will escalate their total square footage to 45,187. Completion is TBD for Aug 2028.

This looks like a new hair salon coming to Fry Springs Plaza this year. And before this year, I would’ve been like “another one?” But after we have had about 3 new pilates places and 2 new frozen custard places, I am a firm believer that there is enough to go around here in Cypress.

This is opening a new location (22326 FM 529 RD, Cypress, TX 77433), next to Skyview Flats, and is expected to be completed by the end of Dec. 2026.

A new childcare option will be opening in April of 2027 at 21414 North Bridgeland Lake Parkway, Cypress, TX 77433, across from Pope Elementary.
