Live music in Cypress, TX: 11 places to hear a band, and when they play

Latest confirmed update (October 15, 2026): The Hidden Cellar Wine Bar and Mo's Irish Pub Cypress have both closed, so they're off this list. The Boardwalk at Towne Lake, Creekwood Grill, and Vintage Park all have live music posted for the rest of October.

The most reliable live music in Cypress right now is free and outdoors-ish. The Boardwalk at Towne Lake has bands every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and Creekwood Grill on Telge has music most Friday and Saturday evenings. Just past FM 1960, Vintage Park runs free shows Thursday through Saturday, 7 to 10 p.m.

Below are 11 places with regular or recurring live music, with what each venue itself says about nights and times. We checked every listing on October 15, 2026. Schedules change week to week, so use the calendar links before you head out.

"Not posted" means the venue doesn't publish a cover or age policy that we could find. It doesn't mean free or all ages. Call ahead if it matters, especially with kids.

9955 Barker Cypress Rd., Cypress, TX 77433. The Boardwalk has live music every Friday and Saturday from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., per the FAQ on its contact page, and its events page lists "October Live Music" through Oct. 30. The Boardwalk says there's no cost to visit. This is the easiest option on the list if you're bringing kids or want dinner first, and the new Walk-On's at the Boardwalk is a few doors down.

12710 Telge Rd., Cypress, TX 77429. Creekwood posts a full live music calendar running through mid-December. Shows are most Fridays and Saturdays, generally 6:30 to 9 p.m. (a few start at 6), plus a "Second Sunday" show. Upcoming: Kris Collins on Oct. 16, Lance Parra on Oct. 17, and Mark Childres on Oct. 23 (Creekwood live music calendar). There's a covered patio and playground out back (Creekwood Grill), which is why families end up here on Friday nights.

16416 Mueschke Rd., Cypress, TX 77433. Locals just call it The Barn. Frio Grill's hours are Wednesday through Friday 5 p.m. to midnight, Saturday 11 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It's closed Monday and Tuesday (Frio Grill events). The events page doesn't list dates right now. The most recent show we found was a free Cadillac Avenue show on July 18, 2026 (My Neighborhood News). Regular music nights are unconfirmed, so call 281-256-3746 before you go.

15914 Telge Rd., Cypress. A craft beer bar on Telge that hosts live music events, per Community Impact (Nov. 3, 2025). Earlier listings had shows at 6:30 p.m., mostly on weekends. We couldn't load its events page on Oct. 15, so the current schedule is unconfirmed.

17943 Grant Rd., Cypress, TX 77429. A long-running Grant Road icehouse with bands on some Saturdays. Upcoming listings include Henry Williams on Oct. 17 at 9 p.m. and the Texas Sundown Band on Nov. 21 at 8:30 p.m. (Bandsintown). The venue doesn't post a regular music night.

25610 Hempstead Rd., Cypress, TX 77429. Home of Pappa Charlies BBQ, with a big patio under the trees. Its website advertises "Live Music Nights" and lists Friday and Saturday hours of 11 a.m. to midnight. It doesn't list which nights have bands, so dates are unconfirmed. Call 281-213-4136.

13800 Cypress North Houston Rd., Cypress, TX 77429. A country and rockabilly bar that its website says was established in 2001. The Texas Music Office lists it in its venue directory. We couldn't find a current schedule, so music nights are unconfirmed. Call 281-897-0828.

27200 U.S. 290, Ste. 160, Cypress, TX 77433 (Community Impact). A neighborhood bar on 290 that books a live band some Saturday nights, like Salty AF on Aug. 29 from 8 to 11 p.m. (My Neighborhood News). It also runs karaoke and trivia nights. There's no regular music schedule posted.

110 Vintage Park Blvd., Houston, TX 77070. Free live music at The Fountains every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. Tianna Hall plays tonight, Oct. 15, and Cypress Union plays Oct. 31 (Vintage Park music lineup). It's the most consistent free schedule in the area.

11528 Jones Rd., Houston, about a quarter mile north of FM 1960. This is the loud one: original and local rock bands Friday and Saturday, usually starting at 7 p.m., with an indoor club and a large outdoor patio. October has bigger weekend bills, including Halloween Town on Oct. 17 (5 p.m.) and Zombie Fest Oct. 24–25 (3 p.m.) (BFE Rock Club). Cover varies by show.

FM 2920, Hockley (we found 21835 FM 2920 on a ticket listing, unconfirmed). This is a ticketed concert venue, not a bar band night. Doors open at 6 p.m. and shows usually start at 8. Coming up: Blacktop Mojo on Oct. 16, Gary P. Nunn on Oct. 17, John Conlee on Oct. 22, Robert Ellis on Oct. 23, and Sara Evans on Nov. 12 (2920 Roadhouse upcoming shows). Buy tickets through the venue's site so you pay face value, not resale prices.
