Cypress π² Public Service Announcement
I was shocked to find this (even more shocked that my dogs have survived this long WITHOUT me knowing this) β¦I had no clue your pets could be poisoned by these. Keep in mind, Iβve seen dogs survive snake bites with nothing but Benadryl β (Iβm from the sticks.) ππ³
The Oaks Vet Clinic (My Vet) posted this yesterday and thought Iβd share. Hereβs 7 Hidden Pet Poisons I didnβt know about.
Gum and Mints can contain Xylitol; even small amounts of xylitol can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), seizures, liver failure, or even death.
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) can cause severe liver damage in pets, even at low doses. It can also damage red blood cells and lead to other health problems.
Sago Palm is extremely toxic to cats and dogs; all parts of the plant are toxic, but the seeds are the most toxic and can result in death.
Ibuprofen is highly toxic and dangerous for pets and should never be administered to them. Even small doses can⦠[Read The Rest Here.]
Whatβs New In Cypress π²
The Samβs Boat location hasnβt even had time for the dust to settle and someone came in to take their spotβ¦
I canβt blame them. In town lake, with that much traffic on the boardwalk, the old Samβs Boat location was a PRIME spot for the right business. But is THIS βοΈ the right business?π
My comments section went a bit βunhingedβ when I announced that Walk Onβs Sports Bistreaux was taking over. [See the Comments Here].
And with a $1.5M renovation starting in November, Cypress will have to wait until March 2026 to give it a try (yeah followers also expressed some frustration over that as well. Want to learn more about the new restaurant? [Read more here.]
I thought they were joking about 60ΒΊ tempsβ¦ We may see it next week π
No joke, we could see temps dip from the 90s into the 60s for our first full week of September. Which is wild for this time of year. I kept seeing these little β6-7β weather jokes (I still donβt get the joke, someone please reply and explain.) But after my third time I went to investigate and according to Mr. Google, all of the local weather outlets confirm this cold front. They expect this to come in late next week due to some cold front in the plains of Canada. [Read The Prediction Report Here.]
Reads From Tuesday:
This is your sign to get your roof inspected. ποΈ
You should have your roof professionally inspected at least once a year, but also after any major storm or extreme weather event. For older roofs or homes surrounded by large trees, twice-yearly inspections β in spring and fall β are even better at catching issues before they become costly repairs. If your roof is over 15 years old, you should be prepared for signs of wear and tear, possible leaks, and even the need to start budgeting for a replacement.
Think your roof has damage after the recent storms? Let my friend Sean know. [Get a Free Inspection.]

βThe Ultimate Convenience β
I saw the coolest thing on a Facebook Reelβ A laundry delivery. And (honestly) I was jealous. I thought, βthis HAS to be insanely expensiveβ. π΄ SPOILER: Itβs not.
In reality, it can be super affordable. Right now, Laundry Loop is offering a special for all new clients!
π€― $0.99 per pound for Wash/Dry/Fold services.
Right here in Cypress, they offer scheduled laundry pickup where they will wash, dry, and fold your laundry for you. When theyβre done, it gets dropped back off at your door, ready to be put away. Saving you hours each week.
