Happy Friday, Cypress! 🌲
No school today, no school next week, and somehow every church lawn in Cypress is covered in pumpkins. Coincidence? We think not. If you have 10 days of kids to entertain, we did the homework: free pumpkin patch activities on weekday mornings, three farms worth the drive, and a ’70s party for the grown-ups on Saturday night. You’ve earned that last one.
The less fun part: Kids go back Monday, Oct. 19, which is also the first day of early voting. That Monday is going to be a lot. Plan accordingly.
Have a great weekend, Cypress!
Cheers! - Ashlyn 🌲💚

KIKI COOPER NEEDS A HOME 💙 This 15-week-old, 22-pound shepherd/hound mix was found living under a house, but you'd never guess it now. His skin is healing nicely, and he's busy discovering toys, naps, and people to love. He's doing great in his crate, already knows sit, and is working on potty training. He's decided the porch is the bathroom and the grass is strictly for playing, so that's a work in progress. He's expected to grow into a big guy, and when playtime's over, Kiki sleeps HARD. Kiki would love a home with another dog to romp and wrestle with.
Don’t forget to pick him up some treats 🐶

P-6 Farms (Montgomery) is the big one. Its Fall Fest runs weekends through Nov. 8, with a you-pick pumpkin patch, a corn maze, pig races, vintage rides, and a roller coaster. See Fall Fest details.

In Case You Missed It 🌲
🌲 Why the Boardwalk is glowing pink: The Boardwalk at Towne Lake is illuminated in pink each evening throughout October through a partnership with Houston Methodist Neal Cancer Center at Cypress. Visitors can explore breast cancer facts and resources along the waterfront through an educational walk.
🌲 Your October health to-do list, in one place: Speaking of October to-do lists, our community health report is up. Harris County Public Health is offering free clinical breast exams and free flu shots all month, and Memorial Hermann Cypress has a Saturday Mammo Day on Oct. 17 (appointments required). We also rounded up where to give blood without leaving Cypress, a women's health morning on Oct. 24, and what the latest state data says about flu.
