What’s New In Cypress 🌲

✨New✨: Are We Getting Another Costco?

So we all know of the nightmare it is to get in and out of Costco (since it backs up to Mueschke and 290), well, they announced plans to begin construction to expand their parking lot starting in January of 2026. No further details have been released, but we’re all praying that means a better entry and exit route (like the nice one in The Woodlands). Buuuttttt from a write-up in Business Insider earlier this year, it’s said that whenever Costco initiates an expansion of a parking lot, it typically means that they need to expand to meet demands. What comes after? Another Costco! So I’m not saying we’re definitely getting another Costco soon.

But I’m not NOT saying it either. πŸ‘€ [See My Video Here.]

New: 🚌 All of The Buses Are Back in Action 🚌

Whew, Cy-Fair ISD has been going through it lately. Every time I turn around, they are feeling the blowback from something. But hey, that’s what happens when you’re one of the biggest districts in the state (all eyes are on you). Most recently, the issue was the limitation of the bus routes. And this was way past just an inconvenience for parentsβ€”No kidding, children were getting hit just trying to get to school while walking through pedestrian crosswalks and intersections. Well, on June 23rd, the board of trustees adopted the new (limited) budget, which reinstates the bus transportation. School starts on Aug. 13, and the new routes will be released before then (first week of August). [Learn More Here.]

Reads from Tuesday:

πŸ”Ί Texas home insurance premiums averaged a 23% jump from 2022 to 2023, and Harris County has seen the biggest hike, 28%. The highest state to jump in the U.S., as insurers reduce coverage due to extreme weather risk. Cy-Fair residents, especially near Moore Elementary, are feeling the impact, even if they’ve never filed claims. [Read The Full Story Here.]

Wondering who’s taking over the old β€˜Party City’ space?

Source: Me… I made this πŸ˜…

Strap yourselves in kids… we’re getting a new bookstore! So that sad shell where Party City used to reside (in the Fairfield Town Center) is getting a major makeover. The folks over at Books-A-Million have filed the paperwork and are set to start construction on August 11th with completion in early November. This will be a giant 15,000 square foot book store rivaling anything I’ve seen since Hastings (anyone remember those?). [See My Video Here]

πŸŽ„The Christmas in July Sale is live for Santa’s Wonderland πŸŽ„

This isn’t β€œlocal” but all the locals love it… Including me.

I buy from this sale, Every. Single. Year, and it saves me a ton. The tickets are typically $60, but during certain sales (like this one), they mark them down to $35 for adults. If you’ve never been to Santa’s Wonderlan,d please give it a try, its a bit of a drive, about 50 mins from Cypress, but so much fun. Live music, shops, rides, food, and so many lights. (Not a paid ad by the way, it’s just so much fun and I want to share it πŸ˜‚). [See Tickets Here].
