Happy Friday, Cypress! 🌲
Cypress mostly dodged Edouard, but just 100 miles east, parts of Southeast Texas saw nearly two feet of rain, major flooding and tens of thousands of power outages.
On the docket today: Harris County proposes tax rates Tuesday, Nordstrom Rack picked Dunham Pointe, and Grand Mason is bringing Costco and a retail mecca to 99.
Have a great weekend, Cypress!
Cheers! - Ashlyn 🌲💚

Four agencies just agreed to study Cypress Creek together
The week Edouard dumped rain on us, four local officials signed something that has been a long time coming.
On Monday, September 1, the Brookshire-Katy Drainage District, Harris County Precinct 3 and Precinct 4, and Waller County Precinct 4 signed a memorandum of understanding to work on drainage across county lines. The agreement is nonbinding and puts no money on the table, but it names four things the group intends to do: study how water moves through Cypress Creek between the counties, work on drainage and detention along Cane Island Branch, add gauges to the regional flood-warning system, and settle on common drainage standards as development keeps pushing west.
"Water doesn't care about boundaries," Waller County Precinct 4 Commissioner Justin Beckendorff said at the signing. "Most of the rain that falls in Waller County moves through Harris County before it ever reaches Katy." Read the coverage

That is a long runway, and it says something about how Trademark Property Company is filling that center. "Nordstrom Rack is a seamless addition to the tenant mix we are curating for the property," said Daniel Goldware, the company's senior vice president of leasing. Read the announcement
