Happy Good Friday, Cypress! ✝️

Today is Good Friday — the start of one of the most recognized weekends of the year. Here's something worth knowing: the word "good" actually comes from Old English, where it meant "holy," so it's really just "Holy Friday." Germany calls it Karfreitag — "Sorrowful Friday" — and they take it seriously over there. Like, really seriously. Public dancing is completely banned today across most of Germany, and if you get caught violating it, you're looking at a fine of up to $11,000.

For Christians, today marks the crucifixion of Jesus, with Easter Sunday's resurrection being the whole reason for the season. Two thousand years later, over 2 billion people around the world still observe it. That's pretty remarkable when you think about it.

However you're spending today, Cypress — we hope it's a good one.

Cheers! - Ashlyn 🌲💚
