Three CFISD football programs—Cypress Falls, Cypress Lakes, and Cypress Ranch—punched their tickets to the Class 6A area playoffs after dominant bi-district wins on Nov. 14.

  • Bridgeland Bears close out the year as bi-district finalists after a 37–27 loss to Klein Collins.

The 2025 CFISD Middle School Football Championships concluded Oct. 29, and several teams earned district titles in a thrilling end to the season.

🌟 Student Spotlight: Cy Woods Senior Mihika Manocha

Cypress Woods High School senior Mihika Manocha, age 17, is celebrated by her teachers for her leadership on and off campus.

🎓 Bridgeland Senior Wins Statewide Scholarship

Bridgeland High School’s Linley Adams received the 2025–26 Celebrate Texas Public Schools Scholarship worth $2,500.

  • Drum major leading 300+ band members and 75 color guard students

  • Member of three National Honor Societies

  • Ranked 41st in her class with a 6.75 GPA

🏹 Cook Middle School Student Makes U.S. Archery Team

Eighth grader Jia Sanja from Cook Middle School earned a spot on the 2026 U.S. Archery Team in the Female Recurve U15 division.

She also won Intermediate Female Recurve Champion at the 2026 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

Sanja says her journey began “with a plastic bow on a hay bale,” proving passion and focus can take students far.

🎭 Fine Arts Excellence: Middle School UIL One-Act Play Results

Nine CFISD middle school theater productions earned top placements during the UIL One-Act Play Contest held Oct. 20, 24, and 30.

🤝 Community Spotlight: Modern Woodmen Financial Adopts Cook & Rowe Middle Schools

Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial announced an Adopt-a-School partnership with Cook MS and Rowe MS.

👨‍🏫 Leadership News: Cypress Springs High School Welcomes New Principal

Dr. Plas Williams Jr., current principal at Truitt Middle School, has been named the new principal of Cypress Springs High School, succeeding Dr. Cheryl Henry after her December retirement.
