Coffee, boba, brunch, and ButterBurgers: New Cypress dining spots to watch

Cypress and Cy-Fair’s food-and-drink pipeline continues to grow, with new cafes, national chains and first-to-market concepts planned along Elyson, West and Mason roads, North Eldridge Parkway and Fry Road. Residents looking for their next coffee, brunch or quick-service stop have several names to watch, from Feng Cha and Starbucks to Culver’s and Wild Eggs.

The recent wave of openings and development filings reflects continued retail activity across Cypress-area growth corridors. Some businesses are already serving customers, while others remain in planning or construction stages.

First, (and arguably the most notable) La La Land Kind Cafe has opened at 9935 Barker Cypress Road, Suite 130, at The Boardwalk at Towne Lake.

The Dallas-founded cafe occupies the former Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee & Bakery space and is the brand’s first Houston-area location with a drive-thru. The shop also offers indoor and patio seating overlooking the Towne Lake development. Its menu includes coffee, matcha and tea, along with specialty drinks such as the La La Latte and Banana Cloud Latte. Customers can also order sweet and savory toasts, sandwiches and wraps.

The opening adds another high-profile cafe to Cypress while strengthening The Boardwalk’s role as a dining and gathering destination. La La Land is also known for its kindness-focused brand and its work supporting young people transitioning out of foster care.

Boba tea franchise Feng Cha is planning a location at 7070 Elyson Exchange Way in Cypress, although an opening date has not been announced.

The chain began in Richardson in 2017 and has grown to more than 80 locations. Its menu includes tea and boba drinks such as Creme Brulee Dirty Boba, Mango Fantasy, Matcha Latte and Strawberry Overload, along with milk foam cakes.

The planned shop adds another food-and-drink option to the Elyson area as commercial development follows residential growth in and around the master-planned community.

A new Starbucks is also being planned near the intersection of West Road and Mason Road. According to a Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing cited by Community Impact, the store is expected at 21910 West Road in Cypress. An opening timeline has not been announced.

The location would bring another major coffee brand to a busy section of the Cypress area surrounded by neighborhoods, schools and expanding retail centers.

Tinto’s Cafe is already open at 8302 N. Eldridge Parkway, Suite 210, in Houston after holding its grand opening May 31.

The cafe serves Colombian coffee alongside sourdough sandwiches, pastries and house-made desserts. Its drink menu includes cappuccinos, flat whites and espresso, as well as specialty creations such as the Tinto Ritual, made with smoked cold brew and orange cold foam. Tinto’s gives the North Eldridge corridor a locally distinctive alternative to larger coffee chains, pairing specialty beverages with a broader cafe menu.

Wisconsin-based Culver’s has filed plans for a new restaurant at 9265 Fry Road in Cypress.

The chain is known for its ButterBurgers, Wisconsin cheese curds and frozen custard. Its menu also includes chicken, seafood and sandwiches. An opening date has not been announced. According to the state filing, construction is expected to begin in September 2026 and conclude around the middle of 2027. Because the project remains in the filing stage, its plans and timeline could change.

The location would strengthen Fry Road’s growing concentration of national dining brands while giving nearby residents another fast-casual option.

Another newcomer (which seems to be popular, but I’ve never heard of them), is Wild Eggs, a breakfast-and-brunch chain planning its first Texas restaurant at 9814 Fry Road in Cypress.

The company expects to open the restaurant by the end of 2026. Founded in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2007, Wild Eggs currently operates 19 locations across Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio. The chain specializes in scratch-made breakfast and brunch dishes prepared with locally sourced ingredients.

Its menu includes the Mad Platter, featuring eggs, bacon, sausage, a side and a buttermilk pancake, as well as country-fried steak served with eggs and home fries. Lunch selections include burgers, sandwiches and salads, while the beverage menu offers coffee and fresh-squeezed juice.

Landing the brand’s first Texas location gives Cypress a regional point of distinction and further establishes Fry Road as a destination for both familiar chains and concepts entering the state for the first time.

The Peach Cobbler Factory is now serving customers at 12312 Barker Cypress Road, Suite 1700, in Cypress.

The dessert shop opened June 13 and offers cobblers, banana puddings, cinnamon rolls, cookies and shakes. Cobbler flavors include sweet potato pecan, honey apple, mango peach and blackberry peach. The business also provides catering and food truck services.

Founded in 2013, The Peach Cobbler Factory has grown to more than 100 locations. Its Cypress opening adds a late-night-friendly dessert concept to the Barker Cypress corridor and gives local families another option beyond traditional bakeries and ice cream shops.

Taken together, the projects show that Cypress-area retail growth is not concentrated in a single development.

Elyson is attracting concepts that cater to its growing residential base. West and Mason roads continue to draw national operators. North Eldridge is welcoming locally differentiated cafes, and Fry Road is building a broader restaurant mix that ranges from frozen custard and burgers to full-service brunch.

Not every announced or filed project is guaranteed to open on its original timeline. Still, the number and variety of businesses entering the pipeline suggest continued confidence in Cypress and Cy-Fair’s expanding customer base.

For residents, that means more nearby choices and a growing watch list filled with coffee, boba, custard, ButterBurgers and brunch.
