The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo broke ground Thursday on a second campus, and gave it a name. It's called The Farm—short for Furthering our Agriculture and Ranching Mission—and it sits on roughly 350 acres the Rodeo owns along Highway 288, about five miles south of Reliant Park.
It's the largest single facilities investment in the organization's history, and it's built to open in time for the 2029 show. Chris Boleman, the Rodeo's president and CEO, said the groundbreaking lays "the foundation for the future" of the event.
If your family goes for the carnival and the concerts, almost nothing changes. If you've got a kid who shows, this is the bigger story.
