Cypress Finds
6 Breweries to Visit in the Cypress Area
Because beer is basically its own love language around here
I am not a beer drinker. I've tried and been let down one, two, three hundred timesāso for the moment, it's a solid "no" from me. Maybe I just haven't met my beer yet. (But at 30 Iām giving up hope). Still, I see the appeal. Iāve watched friends get downright poetic about the mouthfeel of a hazy IPA or the ābready backboneā of a German lager. So even if I'm not sipping, I respect the craft.
And hereās the thing, Cypress and the surrounding area have become a mini mecca for local breweries. Whether you're looking to kill a few hours with friends, discover a new go-to growler, or just want an excuse to sit outside and listen to live music, there's probably a taproom for that.
So if you're looking to tap something new this weekend, here are a few local spots that locals love and a few that might surprise you.
š For the curious drinker who likes a little edge with their ale
This oneās for the folks who like their beers just a little different. Misfit Brewing is exactly what it sounds likeā bold, unexpected, and proud to be off the beaten path. They specialize in hoppy ales, stouts, and lagers, but with an experimental flair that keeps things interesting.
Brew:30 Taphouse ā Cypress, TX
š¬ Come for the beer, stay for movie night
This is one of those places that wears multiple hats: neighborhood hangout, live music venue, craft beer emporium. With 30 rotating taps, Brew:30 makes it easy to find something new every time. Itās also kid-friendly, which I know is a huge plus for families trying to get out without calling a babysitter. Theyāve got events like bingo nights and live music, and you can fill up a growler to take something home.
š½ Craft beer meets elevated pub grub
Paradigm might be the most āgrown-upā feeling of the bunch. Itās not just beer hereātheyāve got a full kitchen that serves things like chargrilled burgers and loaded fries that feel fancier than they sound. Their Southern Bock and Professor Pils are local favorites, and theyāve got outdoor games and a covered patio if you like to sip and socialize.
š Sunday brunch, but make it beer
Senate Avenue is the one you want for a full-on brewpub experience. The beer menu is packedāfrom their Straw Poll Saison to the bold Point of Order Double IPAāand theyāve got a brunch that people actually plan their weekend around. Itās got both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can decide just how outdoorsy you're feeling when brunch rolls around.
š Old Town charm, modern brews
Nestled right in Old Town Tomball, Fire Ant is cozy, charming, and quietly creative. Their menu features both signature and seasonal beers, and their food isnāt an afterthought either. Iāve heard whispers about their Sweet Tea Fried Chicken Sandwich that make me reconsider my "no beer" stance if only to have something to wash it down with.
š A beer bar with retail therapy built in
Not quite a brewery, but definitely worth mentioning. Craft Beer Cellar offers a little bit of everything, from obscure imports to beloved Texas brews. You can sample beers right there at the bar or pick up six-packs to go. If youāre the type who likes to read every label and ask a million questions before committing to a pintāthis is your paradise.
