Last week I was on our Facebook page and saw an ad for โ€œVisit Lufkinโ€. It had what looked to be various apparel options plus mugs, cups, etc. And I thought, โ€œwell that looks cool. I wish someone made stuff like this for Cypressโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜โ€.

  • PickleBall Social Is Ready for you to Take The Court: I spoke with the owner of PickleBall Social who confirmed they will indeed be open starting this week, Mon-Fri from 5 PM to 10 PM, Sat. 10 AM to 10PM and Sun. from 10 AM to 9PM. Indoor court rentals are $35 per court/hr and outdoor court rentals are $15 per court/hr. [Book your Court Here!]

  • Adopt Pets: I know we usually feature one or two pets that need to be adopted but, our pet partner, Cypress Lucky Mutt Rescue, had a devastating loss last week and instead weโ€™d like to ask that you read their story regarding the tragic fire and consider donating. [Read more here.]

The Mobile Library is on the move

I may be biased but CFISD is by far one of the best districts Iโ€™ve seen between all of the programs, rankings and resourcesโ€” thereโ€™s a lot to love. You can add down the mobile library to this list. Keep in mind summer reading programs improve students reading skills by an average of 0.4 grade levels. Also, kids are 2.5X's more likely to meet their grade-level reading standards. [See the mobile library schedule here.]

Pathways Program is Open Until June 30th

Not lovin your school assignment in CFISD? You can apply for a transfer through one of the pathway programs. Thereโ€™s an out of district student transfer, an open campus transfer and a change of residence transfer. [Learn more here.]

Select CFISD Elementary schools will be getting an after school soccer league

As of right now this is for 8 elementary schools (but more are being added), and itโ€™s for students K-5th grade. Practice is twice a week and the full season will be 6 practices and 3 games. [Hereโ€™s the program info.]

Reminder: All Summer Meal Stops are Open

We announced this a few weeks back but with all harris county schools officially out for summer vacation, all of the sites hosting free meals are now open. Hereโ€™s the deets: Free breakfast and lunch at any of the 22 sites for children under 18. [See locations and Serving Times]
