Lawn Maintenance cheat sheet

Texas has some crazy weather and intense heat, now if you love it or hate it, one thing remains— your lawn will suffer without proper care. When we had our new build home it was even more difficult than our home now which has mature grass, trees, etc.

  1. New sod needs extra attention. Typically your sod is put down on top of less than ideal soil so the chances of survival is already stacked against you.

  2. The heat can make water and nutrient penetration more difficult. Watering means nothing if it’s not reaching your roots. So before you go to soaking your lawn remember that.

  3. There is more science than art to proper lawn maintenance. Different grass types, sun exposure, and temps all contribute to lawn health.

So if you need a great resource to keep your lawn healthy year round, my husband and I really liked the Nitro-Phos. Plus, they have this handy calendar that shows you when and what types of fertilizer to use.
