Happy Friday, Cypress! 💐🌲

The woman who invented Mother's Day went absolutely FERAL trying to destroy it and I cannot stop thinking about her. 😂 Her name was Anna Jarvis. She created the holiday in 1908, fought to make it official in 1914, then watched florists and card companies turn it into a billion-dollar industry and lost her entire mind.

She sued companies for using the name "Mother's Day." She crashed a Mother's Day fundraiser and got arrested for disturbing the peace. She once walked into a tearoom, ordered the "Mother's Day Salad," and dumped it on the floor.

She died penniless in 1948, and the rumor is the floral industry secretly paid her medical bills, which might be the pettiest plot twist in American history. 💀 So this Sunday, call your mom and write her something heartfelt. (Maybe skip the pre-printed card though… we don't want to summon her ghost. 😆 )

Have a great weekend Cypress!

Cheers! - Ashlyn 🌲💚
