This Week in CFISD: Tensions run high between the Governor and CFISD 😳
If you think you’re having a bad week, at least you didn’t get called out in a very public (and slightly petty) press release by the Governor of Texas out of the blue. [See CFISD’s response to the release here.]
From earlier this week: At its Jan. 15 meeting, the Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees chose not to move forward (at least for now) with a proposed policy change that would have narrowed who can request a reconsideration of instructional materials after they’ve already been adopted by the district. The vote wasn’t about approving or rejecting the policy itself. Instead, trustees voted 4–3 to indefinitely table it, essentially pressing pause on the discussion.
