The 2025 Results Are in, and The 2026 Housing Market Looks Promising 📈
If you’ve been waiting for a headline that doesn’t scream boom or bust, Houston quietly delivered one in 2025. According to the Houston Association of Realtors (HAR), last year marked something the housing market hasn’t seen in a while: normalcy. And in today’s national housing climate, that’s not a downgrade, it’s a strong positive signal.
While many major U.S. metros are still wrestling with volatility, stalled demand, or affordability crunches, Houston did something rare: it returned to balance. [Read The Forecast Here].
🦞 Crawfish Season is Here! And Rates are Looking Good!
Alright, the time has come. Word on the street is that the weather this year was Perfect for crawfish season, and we should expect great size and great market prices to match. I am determined to try as much as possible, but based on the past few years, Han’s and BB’s Tex-Orleans are my favorite spots. As of yesterday, BB’s in Cypress are charging $11.99 per pound (down from $13.99 per pound at the start of the 2025 season). When I spoke to Hans, they plan to open again, and he said Friday, Feb. 6th, at The Barn at Frio. Stay tuned, and I’ll keep ya updated!
This Week in CFISD: Board Policy Tension & District News
At its Jan. 15 meeting, the Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees chose not to move forward (at least for now) with a proposed policy change that would have narrowed who can request a reconsideration of instructional materials after they’ve already been adopted by the district. The vote wasn’t about approving or rejecting the policy itself. Instead, trustees voted 4–3 to indefinitely table it, essentially pressing pause on the discussion.
