Welcome Back to Cypress Digest! Your Weekly Guide to Community News & Events in Cypress, TX. Letβs kick things off with a story about nothing that we can all relate to. Or you can skip ahead here.
Some people trust their dogs with their lives. I donβt even trust mine in the backyard.
Youβd think that would be the one place they could be free with no rules, no supervision. Wrong.
A few years ago, my sonβs pacifiers started disappearing. One by one. And like any reasonable, sleep-deprived parent, I assumed my husband was losing them. This went on for months.
Six months later, we discovered the truth. Our GSP had been stealing and hoarding my sonβs pacifiers in the backyard like his own little treasure pile. A collection. A hobby.
And it gets better. He wasnβt just collecting themβ¦ he was trying to eat them.
Which brings us to the green gummy-style pacifier. You know the one. Flexible. Innocent-looking. A terrible choice for a dog with impulse control issues. That one didnβt make it through. It lodged in his stomach and turned a bad snack decision into a $2,000 vet bill. A clear reminder that while dogs are family members, they are also absolute liabilities with fur.
So yes, I really appreciate places like The Oaks Vet Clinic. They get it. They donβt judge you when you walk in, explaining that your dog has a pacifier addiction and questionable life choices. They just help you fix the problem and quietly let you keep your dignityβ¦. Just not your $2,000. π
Cheers, Cypress!- Ashlyn π²π
